"A Family Tradition of Craftsmanship"
Stone Mountain Builders is owned and managed by Jerome Stenberg. J Bar 6 Builders is owned and managed by son Jarrod Stenberg. The two companies are separate entities, however often they combine resources to enhance efficiency and overall capabilities. There is much “overlap” between the two companies as day-to-day operations are conducted in a family like atmosphere. Stone Mountain Builders and or J bar 6 Builders “The Builder” is honored with the privilege of being considered as your chosen Dream Home Builder. We do not take this responsibility lightly.
The Stenberg Family is quite unique among builders in that they do not simply negotiate contracts and then assemble a cadre of subcontractors and tradesman to complete the project. No, the Stenberg’s themselves are accomplished Nordic Craftsman which have developed and refined their skills by knowledge being passed down from previous generations, the phrase “A Family Tradition of Craftsmanship” truly represents the ethos of craftsmanship that the Stenberg lives and breathes.
Building a custom structure is a process of combining the desires and dreams of the Homeowners with labor and building materials under the expertise and managerial skills of the Master Builder. The Homeowner, Architect, Designer, Master Builder, Sub-Contractors and Tradesman are all focused on the same goal but for different reasons. While we all strongly desire the new home to be that special dream home come true for the Homeowner, we as Builders make our families livelihoods by working on your project, it is what we do. All effort to justify a change in costs will be made, however unforeseen expense must be dealt with fairly and openly.
We as the Builder operate under an open book system whereas the Homeowner and their representative shall have full access to bids, actual costs, and materials lists. The Builder will make every effort to obtain the most accurate bids and estimates for all phases of the project. In the event of actual costs exceeding projected costs all effort will be made to find excesses in other areas in order to maintain the final estimated target price. The Builder retains the right to perform individual phases of the project, for example framing or roofing even though those tasks were bid by a subcontractor. We retain this right in order to provide an even workload for company personnel and or to keep the project moving at the target pace and quality.
The Builder will receive a contractor fee for all materials and labor and will work closely with The Homeowner to ensure the most cost-effective approach is utilized.
The draw schedule must have some degree of flexibility as in some instances items require pre-payment and other circumstances may occur. Lien waivers from all contractors involved will be obtained at the time of disbursement of funds.
Again, Thank You for your considering us to be your builder to bring you dream home to fruition, the journey promises to be both exciting and pleasant!!!
